What is a memory bear?

A memory bear is a handmade keepsake created from meaningful clothing or fabrics. It can be made from items belonging to a loved one, such as shirts, jumpers, dresses, or baby clothes, turning treasured memories into a cuddly keepsake.

Can you post the memory bears?

Yes! If you would like your completed memory bear posted to you, this can be arranged. Postage and packaging will be an additional charge on top of the price of the bear.

If you are local, you are very welcome to drop off your clothing and collect your finished memory bear in person, with no return postage required.

We will let you know the postage cost when your bear is ready to be sent and this will be added to your final invoice.

What clothing can be used to make a memory bear?

Most clothing and fabrics can be used, including shirts, T-shirts, jumpers, dresses, baby clothes, pyjamas, fleece blankets, uniforms and other sentimental textiles. If you're unsure whether your items are suitable, please mention it asap.

How many items of clothing do I need?

This depends on the size and style of bear you choose. Typically a larger bear needs between 6 - 10 baby grows or items of children's clothing dependant on the size or a minimum or one to two adult pieces of clothing.

Can I use clothing from someone who has passed away?

Yes. Memory bears are often made from clothing belonging to a loved one who has passed away and can provide a lasting, personal keepsake. We understand how precious these items can be and handle every order with care.

Will I get all of my clothing back?

We use only the amount of fabric needed to create your bear. Any significant unused pieces will be returned to you where possible. 

Can I choose which parts of the clothing are used?

Yes. Where possible, we can incorporate meaningful details such as pockets, logos, embroidery, collars or other distinctive features. You can let us know which details are particularly important when placing your order.

Can I personalise my memory bear?

Yes, you are  able to add personalisation such as a name, date, message, embroidery or other meaningful details to the foot pads of the bear, this is an additional charge of £5

How long does it take to make a memory bear?

Our turnaround time can vary depending on the number of orders we have and the time of year.  When confirming the order I will update you throughout the process. 

How do I send my clothing to you?

After placing your order, you'll receive instructions explaining how to package and send your clothing to us. We recommend using a tracked delivery service for valuable or sentimental items.

What happens if my clothing is damaged or very worn?

Don't worry — we're used to working with well-loved fabrics. However, very thin, fragile or damaged material may require additional care or reinforcement. If we're concerned that an item cannot be used safely, we'll contact you before proceeding.

Can you make a bear from baby clothes?

Yes! Baby clothes make beautiful memory bears. We can often incorporate several small garments into one bear, allowing you to preserve those precious early memories.

Can I have a memory bear made from multiple people's clothing?

Yes. Combining fabrics from different garments or family members or siblings can create a particularly meaningful keepsake. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss a specific combination.

Are memory bears suitable for children?

Memory bears are primarily keepsakes and are not designed as toys. 

How should I care for my memory bear?

We recommend gentle handling and keeping your bear away from excessive moisture, direct sunlight and rough use. Specific care instructions will depend on the fabrics used and will be provided with your bear.

Can I wash my memory bear?

Because memory bears are made from a variety of fabrics and may contain delicate details, we generally recommend gentle surface cleaning rather than machine washing. Please follow the care instructions supplied with your bear.

What if I don't want to send my original clothing?

We understand that sending sentimental clothing can feel daunting. If you're unsure, please contact us to discuss your options before placing an order.

Can I order a memory bear as a gift?

Yes. Memory bears make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, Father's Day, new babies and remembrance occasions.

What happens if you can't use all of my clothing?

We'll select the most suitable areas of your clothing for the design. Any usable leftover fabric can usually be returned to you, with the bear. 

Do you offer refunds or cancellations?

Because memory bears are individually handmade using customers' personal clothing, once the items are posted and cut refunds and cancellations are not possible.
